Today I completed a 100-day steak on Duolingo. I had seen these people with streaks of 365+ days and I was suprised. Because this is strange to me. I can barely do something consistently for a week.
That's why I decided, 100 days ago, that I will do Duolingo every single day for the next 100 days.
Now when I first started using Duolingo in 2016, my sole goal was to learn Spanish. After making a decent progress for a few weeks., I was under the delusion that I would learn all of Spanish in a year.
Fast forward to now almost 4-5 years later, I have learned a few things here and there, but nothing substantial. So I thought maybe this 100 days challenge would be something that finally puts me back on fast track to Spanish.
Well, I completed the challenge. But sorry to tell, I don't think I learned that much. It is a good feeling that I completed something, but nothing more than that.
There were days when I did just one lesson as quickly as possible. And I don't think doing these one lesson even for 1000 days would lead you anywhere.
So, I'm not going to follow the streak anymore. It has become a chore. And I'm gaining nothing substantial. I don't like streaks.
