History is a Dangerous Subject

History's a tricky thing, especially when it gets in the hands of politicians. It’s biased, and that’s just the nature of it. Whoever's telling the story spins it in their favor. Take a European perspective—Europe’s the crown jewel of civilization. Now, switch it up to a Turkish viewpoint, and suddenly, the Turkish Empire looks like the best thing that ever existed. It’s all about perspective, and let’s be honest, it’s often one that serves an agenda.

And don’t even get me started on the mess religion and caste make of history. People use it to push their own biases, whether it's bashing one group or elevating another. It gets ugly fast, especially when it’s used to divide.

The real problem, though, comes when politicians use history as a tool. They’ll twist facts to fit their narrative, even if it means distorting reality for the sake of their agenda. Sometimes, they’ll just make things up to gain power or votes. It’s manipulation at its finest.

What we learn in school? That’s no different. History gets shaped by what those in power want us to believe. They paint people as heroes or villains based on what suits them. It’s no surprise when kids grow up hating a whole group of people just because they were taught to.

But despite all this, I still think history is worth studying. Yeah, it's riddled with lies and half-truths, but understanding how those lies came to be and how they shaped the world is key. Plus, you’ll probably need it to pass those exams.
