I've started and stopped this blog many times over the years. At times I built a decent readership. But a few years ago I became erratic, removing content, redesigning the site, changing the domain name. I lost almost all my readers.
When I started publishing again on this version, the views were nearly nonexistent. I kept writing, added the blog to a few blogrolls, and slowly the numbers went up. A few weeks ago the views became consistent.
I'm really happy about this. I couldn't have asked for more. But here's the thing. Earlier I would have posted journal entries without thinking twice. Now I have to consider what to publish and what to hold back. I've even unpublished multiple posts.
The blog is fairly anonymous, but it can still be connected to my identity. Now, I can't write a post on how to buy Monero anonymously, which I have been planning for a while. This is just one example, there are many others.
I've thought about starting a completely new blog with a fresh identity. But I'd lose all the views I've built over such a long time.
I'm still figuring this out.
